Activities

The GovUnet focuses on activities relevant to the project’s specific objectives, such as:

  1. The gathering of information, good practice exchange, knowledge building
    and promotion of the European integration process across the world;
  2. The enhancement of existing networks supporting specific activities and/or
    fostering the participation of young researchers in EU-related themes;
  3. The creation and development of consortia of international players in
    the area of EU Studies.

Through a range of actions, the GovUnet will foster the development of new teaching, reinforce research and debating activities for EU subjects associated with the vocational perspective of young scientists and graduates of European Studies, demonstrate evidence of academic added value and will promote and provide greater visibility to these European studies/issues both within the partner institutions in the Jean Monnet Action and beyond: Summer Schools, Common School of Doctoral Studies, academic Sessions, workshops, publication of papers and articles, exchange of professors, international conferences etc.

Beyond:

  • Annual Summer School based in Mytilene (Lesbos, Greece) for doctoral, master's and graduate students from the GovUnet Partners and other Academic Institutions.
  • Creation of a Common School of Doctoral Studies: exchange of doctoral candidates, high level research of the University Institutions, reinforcement of the cooperation between students and exchange of expertise in order to mutually enhance good practice and the development of new methodological tools in research.
  • Academic Sessions (seminars and workshops in Governance, Pluralism and Trans-Nationalisation in Europe) on an annual basis for doctoral and graduate students, focusing on the promotion and strengthening of European Governance issues (integration at local, national, european and international level).
  • Electronic platform (website) to exploit the material produced by the multiple activities of the Network, disseminate results and support the operation of the GovUnet activities.
  • Publications (papers, artciles, collective volumes) to promote dialogue and scientific thought on European Governance issues.
  • International conferences, contributing to the spreading of values of European Studies to local communities in order to create an added value for the scientific approach of the European Idea.
