Europe has always been a major global player on a range of issues of general interest. This position gives the EU the right to participate in the international governance debate with a significant contribution: support for the establishment of governance, which is appropriate for every society in the world and responds to the challenges of the 21st century, can renew the European Development Cooperation Policy and provide a privileged area for coordinating the actions of the Community\'s partners..

Migration and European Values - Conference

Month: February - March

Duration: 2 days

Place: Jean Monnet House, Bazoches-sur-Guyonne, Collège des Bernardins, Paris, France

Description: Based on the experience of the mass arrivals of migrants and asylum seekers in Lesbos, where the GovUnet coordinator is located (University of the Aegean, Mytilene, Lesbos Island), we have suggested in our actions to organize an academic meeting in Paris to study the migration phenomenon in Europe, in the light of the EU\'s moral and democratic values. The choice of conference venues is not random. These places ensure the absolute relationship between the two thematic values of the conference. Academics form all over Europe, representatives of local actors as well as european institutions are going to set the foundations for a constructive interdisciplinary discussion, the results of which are going to be published in the form o a collective volume.
